Everyday people use simple machines to make the work they need to do easier. Many of these were invented centuries ago, and we still use them today. In this 3-week series, students will investigate and learn about some of the most useful machines ever invented. We will look at how screws and planes make work easier, how levers and gears help when moving heavy loads, and how pulleys work.
Each 3-week session will be filled with hands-on activities and investigations. There will also be some "work" for students to do outside of class while they learn about the fascinating physics topic of work.
