Individualized support for your teen learner!

Reading books is a key way to practice self-directed learning skills. Getting accustomed to reading on a regular schedule, using critical thinking skills, and with opportunities for recall and discussion prepares learners for higher education and professional environments.

This coaching option provides support tailored to your needs and can include live interaction (one-time or regularly scheduled), asynchronous support, resources providing relevant context for a work, and much more.

Books that I offer support for are a mix of educational nonfiction (some at college level) as well as fiction books written by diverse and groundbreaking authors on thought-provoking topics.

Choose your book!

When signing up, please indicate which of these books you wish to work on together.

These are books that are at an advanced level, cover some mature topics, and help with preparations for college-level engagement.

Younger learners (tweens) may sign up for these books on a case-by-case basis, but it should be expected that the topics in them will be discussed at a high school level and will include difficult topics, such as racism, domestic violence, enslavement, and political violence in an educational context.
